Porsche has announced that it delivered 246 375 vehicles to customers worldwide in 2017, a new record that represents an increase of four percent when compared to 2016.
The Stuttgart-based autmaker says sales received a “significant boost” courtesy of the new Panamera, which sold about 28 000 units in 2017 (an increase of 83% year-on-year).
Porsche’s pair of 718 models – the Cayman and Boxster – also exceeded their sales results of the previous year, with around 25 000 units of the mid-engine sports cars delivered (up six percent increase year-on-year).
And the 911? Well, in 2017, more than 32 000 units were handed over to customers worldwide. But the top-selling Porsche was again the Macan, which was up two percent to about 97 000 units for the year.
Porsche doesn’t list how many units of its Cayenne were sold globally in 2017, but a spot of rudimentary maths brings us to a rough figure of about 64 000.
