Volkswagen Group brands Lamborghini and Bentley will both miss the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
Last week, we reported that four other major automakers – Aston Martin, Ford, Rolls-Royce and Volvo – would not be attending the 2016 edition of the biennial show, for a variety of reasons.
And now it has been confirmed that Lamborghini and Bentley will also not be in attendance. Why? Well, reportedly because the German group is cutting spending in the wake of the costly emissions scandal.
The official word from Lamborghini, though, is that it is “revising” its strategy regarding motor show attendance. Bentley, meanwhile, says it will instead focus on marketing directly to potential buyers.
The VW brand, however, will use the show to reveal a new electric vehicle that it promises will be “as revolutionary as the Beetle was seven decades ago”. Audi, meanwhile, is expected to whip the covers off the next-generation Q5 and Porsche will give the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid its first public outing.
