Audi’s new design boss, Marc Lichte, introduces both himself and a glimpse of an enticing looking concept that could be the blueprint for the company’s new flagship.
In the promotional video Lichte cites influences such as the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO and the first generations of the A8 and TT. Although the footage only offers a glimpse of the LA Motor Show-bound concept, aspects of the aforementioned cars (i.e. the large wheel arches, bowed roofline and generous dimensions).
The car in question, which has been tentatively dubbed the Audi A9 by the press, is a large four-door coupé that could serve either as the company’s new halo model or as an introduction to Lichte’s approach to Audi’s future design direction which could soon grace the 2016 A8.
