Jaguar is continuing to release bits and pieces of its upcoming BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class contender. Following the first image and video of the Jaguar XE, the company recently released another image.
However, in the latest video, Jaguar unveils more information about the XE in-car entertainment and information systems. Jaguar’s global connected car director, Mike Bell, takes us through all the available functions. These include the overall new system called “incontrol touch infotainment”. This system , among other things, allows Apple and Andriod devices to connect to the car. The result is the possibility to make conference calls, hotel bookings or be informed of traffic warnings.
Jaguar’s “plain speech voice control” claims to offer the driver direct access to a preferred function. Another application will allow the owner, from any distance, to set the climate control in the car using his smartphone.
Jaguar confirmed that the world debut of the XE will take place on 8 September. The expected arrival date in South Africa is the first quarter of 2015.
