The Koenigsegg One:1 has again been spotted testing at the Nürburgring, leading to reports that the Swedish automaker is looking to take down the Porsche 918 Spyder’s production car lap record.
Back in 2013, the 918 Spyder clocked an official time of six minutes and 57 seconds.
According to Autocar, Koenigsegg test driver Robert Serwanski has spent plenty of time behind the wheel in the run up to the attempt, but has now handed over to an unnamed “Nürburgring expert” for private track sessions.
The One:1 employs a 5,0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1 000 kW on E85 ethanol or 865 kW on unleaded petrol. And it uses the same Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres as the 918 Spyder did on its record run.
