Lexus LF-SA revealed ahead of Geneva

Headlining the Lexus stand at the opening of the Geneva Motor Show today will be this Mini and Audi A1-rivalling three-door hatchback concept called the Lexus LF-SA.

Taking its cues from the aggressively styled LF-NX compact SUV concept that saw production in only the slightly watered-down shape of the Lexus NX (read our driving impression of it here), the LF-SA will likely follow a similar path in becoming a showroom model.

It certainly features the most avant-garde version of the signature spindle grille to date and includes distinctive alloy wheels and an integrated rear spoiler.

Lexus have yet to release much in the way of details but a company statement did say: “The LF-SA has been conceived as a luxurious, driver-focused vehicle, designed to address a future world that is more influenced by technology and virtual experiences. The new concept reflects Lexus’s passion for new design trends and explored unexpected territories for the brand.”

As the entry level Lexus, the LF-SA is likely to be based on Toyota’s Yaris platform and will likely see production in 2018. In terms of engines, expect small-capacity turbopetrols and at least one hybrid.
