Lexus has released the first full image (and a short teaser video, which you can view below) of the all-new ES sedan ahead of its official unveiling at the Beijing Motor Show.
Toyota’s luxury arm says the seventh-generation ES “springs from a re-imagined luxury equation, featuring engaging design, athletic performance and renowned Lexus refinement”.
The sole image shows that the new ES has adopted the brand’s latest interpretation of the signature spindle grille, bringing its facia firmly in line with that of the larger LS.
While the automaker has yet to reveal any technical information, reports suggest the new ES will run on a version of Toyota’s modular TNGA platform. As with the outgoing generation, expect a mix of petrol and hybrid powertrains to be offered.
Lexus South Africa says the new ES will be rolled out to the South African market later in 2018. Interestingly, rumours have long suggested that the GS will not be replaced at the end of its current life-cycle, which could see this new ES stepping into the breach to fight the likes of the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
