This is the latest iteration of the Lotus Elise which introduces the updated range for 2017. It’s called the Sprint and with it comes a 41 kg reduction in weight, thanks to a heavily revised interior and other minor alterations.
The Elise Sprint will come with a host of standard weight-saving alterations, most of which take place in the interior such as the open-gate shifter first found on the Exige Sport 350. The front and rear exterior also gain some visual adjustments.
The Elise Sprint is available with the naturally aspirated 1,6-litre or the more popular supercharged 1,8-litre engine. The Sprint will be a mid-level Elise and will feature lightweight and carbon components as standard giving it a dry weight of 798 kg.
These results translate to a 0-100 km/h time of 6,0 seconds for the 1,6-litre and 4,,21 seconds for the supercharged 1,8-litre. Stopping power is provided by a set of AP Racing twin-piston calipers for the front and Brembo single-piston calipers for the rear.
The Elise Sprint will ride on exactly the same chassis as before, but thanks to the reduced weight, there will a marginal increase on the spring rate, thus making it slightly more comfortable.
