Mossgas eases fuel problem

Mossgas is helping to ease the national fuel crisis by supplying diesel to the areas in need of more diesel.
Mossgas is helping to ease the national fuel crisis by supplying diesel to the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, North West and Northern Province.
The country faced a crisis after a fire at the Natref refinery in Sasolburg caused about R80 million worth of damage and a maintenance shutdown at Engen’s Durban refinery.
Jopie Bosman, the marketing manager at Mossgas, said rail tankers carrying Mossgas diesel were under way to the northern regions of the country. Similar consignments have already been sent to the North West and Free State over the past few weeks. More than 23 million litres of Mossgas diesel has already been sent to Durban Harbour.
Bosman said the extra demand had not affected the company’s normal supply areas.
The state-owned gas-to-liquids producer is also sending supplies to Botswana and Zimbabwe.
