Lexus has applied a mild cosmetic refresh on the ES, including an updated version of the company’s spindle grille flanked by a new set of headlights with LED projectors while below sit the L-shaped LED daytime running lights, while the rear features revised taillamps.
Four new exterior colours (Amber, Nightfall Mica, Caviar and Eminent White Pear) will join the six existing colour choices – all of which feature a special polymer coating that allows the paint’s clear coating to ‘heal’ after minor knicks and scratches.
The new Lexus ES also ushers in a brace of new 17-inch alloy wheel designs, while an optional 20-inch rim is also available for all models bar the hybrid.
Additional trim finishes and upholstery options, as well as a larger infotainment screen will be among the interior changes.
Engine options will include a hybridized 2,5-litre four-cylinder and a 2,5-litre L4 powerplant.
The new Lexus ES will arrive on the local market in the fourth quarter of this year, but the range will not include the firm’s 2,0-litre direct-injection petrol engine.
