Mercedes-Benz has released a fresh design sketch that gives us a glimpse at the styling direction of the all-new, soon-to-be-revealed GLE.
The release of the sketch on the Stuttgart-based brand’s Facebook page (along with the words “no place for boredom”) follows the publishing of a short video (which we’ve embedded below) showing off the new model’s front lighting signature.
Interestingly, that shadowy clip depicts the new GLE with just a single bar in its front grille, suggesting that it is the coupé model. In the sketch, however, the GLE’s grille features two slats (mimicking the front end of the X-Class double-cab bakkie, to some degree) and the conventional SUV body style.
Of course, in the sketch the GLE also wears impossibly large alloy wheels and does without exterior door handles.
In July 2018, Mercedes quietly revealed a few details and sketches of the next-generation GLE’s screen-heavy cabin, which you can view here.
