Ford has released the following picture and video of the facelifted, 2015 Ford Ranger.
The most notable updates seem to be centred around the front of the car. This facelifted Ranger now clearly mimics the design first seen on the upcoming Ford Everest SUV.
Australian website caradvice.co.au has also reported on a test mule which has been spotted in Sydney, again, the camouflage only covered the nose and bonnet section of the bakkie. Ford hasn’t released any other details, however, we expect the engine range to be largely unchanged, although Ford could use this opportunity to tweak the engines for improved fuel efficiency. Expect the interior to be even more upmarket than before offering new technologies as well as an updated infotainment system.
Ford South Africa confirmed to us that the new Ranger will be coming to South Africa only in the fourth quarter of 2015. That is perfect timing, as the new Toyota Hilux will be unveiled next year and the Mitsubishi Triton will also arrive in showrooms.
Seems like a 2015 double-cab bakkie shootout is starting to take shape.
