As the upcoming Mercedes-Benz AMG GT nears its international debut, more images of the supercar undergoing testing have surfaced online. This particular example, believed to be one level up from base specification, was spotted near the Nürburgring Norsdschleife.
These images suggest the sportier GTS trim for the AMG GT, which employs a revised front bumper, lower suspension package and a fixed rear spoiler.
Armed with a tweaked version of AMG’s new twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 engine, the GTS spec model will boast 375 kW and 650 N.m of torque – the base model is expected to make use of a 330 kW version of the same powerplant. While reports suggest that AMG’s seven-speed Speedshift dual-clutch transaxle will help the GT transfer torque, though it’s still not known if it will be driven by the rear wheels or boast an all-wheel-drive system.
Mercedes-Benz will probably unveil the AMG GT sometime next month before its official reveal at the Paris Motor Show in October.
