Jaguar probably made quite a bit of cash off the E-Type Lightweight and XKSS “continuation” projects of the past few years. And it seems AC Heritage has taken a page from that book, as it has decided to do the same with its legacy Cobra project.
Each of the resulting nine vehicles will officially be called a Cobra Mk1 260 Legacy Edition, bolted together by the AC Heritage factory in the United Kingdom. These nine models will make use of a new 4,3-litre V8 with an independent front suspension and a live rear axle.
The dimensions of the legacy Cobra will be exactly the same as they were back in 1962. Indeed, the first-ever Cobra sold for £10,2-million (around R190-million) at an auction in Monterey a few weeks ago, a new auction benchmark for an American automobile.
The nine legacy Cobra models will be made in batches of three, with each one being sold for £500 000 (about R9,2-million).
