The last time Audi launched a ‘Plus’ version of its RS6 was in 2004, but it now came to light that the automaker is on course for launching a new ‘Plus’ soon.
Details of the new Audi RS6 Avant Plus emerged on an Audi dealer in the UK’s website, after which it had been quickly removed. It was, however, too late as info of the new car already got in the public’s hands.
According to the leaked information, the new RS6 Plus will feature a 450 kW version of Audi’s 4,0-litre TFSI V8, up 30 kW from the ‘stock’ RS6 Avant. The Plus is also set to benefit from “greater agility”.
The new RS6 Avant Plus is likely to feature suspension and brake upgrades to improve agility, as well as other weight saving measures that will be employed. Revised transmission settings, uprated brakes and carbon-fibre components may also be in store.
Production of the RS6 Avant Plus won’t be limited and it appears that Audi is planning on speeding up the rollout of its Plus models.
The new RS6 Avante Plus should be revealed later this year, although it is unclear at this stage if the model will make its way to South Africa. However, Audi South Africa let slip recently that it might be bringing the standard RS6 Avant to South Africa.
