A couple of months ago, ABT Sportsline revealed rather aggressive kits for both the Audi R8 and RS6 Avant. And now the German tuner has turned its attention to the TT RS…
Officially, the result is called the TT RS-R. It features a full aero kit and (you guessed it) a significant increase in power.
The TT RS-R may not look quite as aggressive as Audi’s in-house performance parts package, but the body kit does include a front splitter, side-skirts and a rear diffuser, all fashioned from carbon-fibre. Round back, you’ll find a hefty set of quad-pipes.
Then there are the 20-inch ABT Sport GR wheels (with a gloss black finish) and the TT RS-R-branded carbon-fibre fuel cap.
Apart from a new set of carpets and custom bucket seats, it appears that there have been few changes made to the interior. However, ABT has stated that options such as custom interior materials will be made available at a later stage.
So, what’s happening under the bonnet? Well, the TT RS-R has been fitted with ABT’s Power R tuning chip, which pushes its 2,5-litre turbocharged five-pot’s peak output to 368 kW and 570 N.m (from 294 kW and 480 N.m), granting it a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3,2 seconds (the same time as the Audi R8 V10 Plus). A throatier stainless steel exhaust system has also been included.
The TT RS-R will be available in both coupé and roadster form and will be limited to 50 units in total.
