The BMW X6 M50d pleasantly surprised us when we tested it for our May 2015 issue, mainly thanks to its big-on-torque, triple-turbocharged 3,0-litre straight-six diesel engine. And now three German companies have teamed up to make this monster even more eye-catching and potent.
Fostla, Hamann and PP-Performance collaborated on a tuning package that altogether comes in at ?19?000 (that’s about R272?000).
The X6 M50d gains a BMC high-performance air filter, a PP-Performance ECU upgrade and a Hamann bodykit. The result? One mean-looking coup?-style SUV with 326 kW and 845 N.m of torque (up from the stock 280 kW and 740 N.m).
The Hamann Anniversary Evo II Black Line alloys are wrapped in 295/30 R22 front and 335/25 R22 rear Continental SportContact 6 tyres, while wheel spacers have also been added (and the arches extended). In addition, the ride height has been dropped, making for an even more aggressive stance.
Lastly, Fostla wrapped the X6 M50d’s body in “black-chrome”, while “black brushed” highlights have been added to the roof, mirror-caps, door handles and diffuser.
