The Jeep Wrangler is perhaps best known for being a rugged, capable off-road machine. But that doesn’t stop the odd tuning house from sprucing it up a little. And the Chelsea Truck Company, sister firm to Kahn Design, is the latest to do so.
The result is called the Volcanic Sky Black Hawk Edition and its creation was personally overseen by designer Afzal Kahn. The idea behind the project? To blend iconic American and contemporary British style.
The blinged up Wrangler is available in both three- and five-door body styles and has almost every panel replaced. The bonnet, for instance, gains a ventilated “Iron Man” design, while the headlamps make use of a shadow chrome effect with LED daytime running lights.
To make it more capable in the wild, the Wrangler has been fitted with a set of Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx 285/70 R17 tyres, wrapped around Chelsea Truck Company custom satin black wheels.
The interior has been kitted out with a set of luxurious GTB bucket seats. The rest of the cabin retains most of its original components, but many have been re-upholstered in black matrix leather.
This bold Wrangler, fitted with the stock 2,8-litre turbodiesel engine, comes in at the equivalent of around R859 000.
