Chevrolet has officially taken the wraps off the Trailblazer facelift, and the updated model is scheduled to arrive in South Africa in the final quarter of 2016.
Although a near-production-ready concept version was shown off at the Bangkok International Motor Show back in March, these are the first official images of the production model.
The updated Chevrolet Trailblazer is distinguished primarily by its redesigned front end, which features new headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a chunkier grille, and a new front bumper (with more prominent fog-lamps). Round back, nothing appears to have changed.
Inside, Chevrolet says the completely redesigned facia now features higher-quality materials, while top-spec models come with the brand’s eight-inch MyLink infotainment system (offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto).
The updates will be welcome in South Africa, considering the fact that the Trailblazer’s two main local rivals – the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest – recently moved into all-new generations.
No word yet on whether this Trailblazer facelift will prompt any changes to the local engine line-up, which currently comprises 2,5- and 2,8-litre turbodiesel mills.
