Following the release of the updated Ford Ranger, Mazda has revealed its facelifted BT-50. However, it is only the slightest of facelifts. Changes have been made to the front and rear while there are also new aluminium wheels. Mazda also confirmed that the “interior has been refined to give a higher-quality feel”. A rear-view camera will also be offered for the first time.
The company further confirmed that the powertrain and body types will be the same as the outgoing range. However, we will expect the updated range to offer the same engine improvements in terms of power delivery and fuel consumption than the Ford Ranger range on which it is based. Unfortunately no rear or interior pictures have been made available.
Production has also started in Thailand of this updated model. We would expect to see this model in our showrooms by no later than early next year. As is usually the case with most bakkies manufactured in Thailand, this country and Australia will be first in line to receive the new model.
