The good news is that this is a new production Ferrari, the bad news is, only ten will be produced for American customers, of which all have already been sold.
The F60America, is build to celebrate 60 years of Ferrari in America. According to the Maranello manufacturer, they will only produce 10 examples because of the 1950s and 1960s tradition of built-to-order cars. An example back then was the 1967 275 GTS4 NART Spider, an open version of the Ferrari 275 GTB4. These cars were specifically requested by the US Ferrari importer, Luigi Chinetti for his clients. As Americans love V12 engines, and open-top cars, Ferrari has decided to combine these two characteristics in the F60America, a car that is based on the F12berlinetta.
This means the 6,3-litre, V12 engine delivers enough punch to propel the car from standstill to 100 km/h in only 3,1 seconds, revving all the way to 8 700 r/min in the process. Top speed will be at worst only a few kilometres per hour less than the F12.
Even though based on the F12, it seams almost as if every panel is new, while the car still keeps it compact stance, even with the roof removed. Meant to be driven with the top removed, a light fabric roof can be put in place and used at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
The cabin features a strong asymmetrical design. While the driver’s side is covered in red leather and composite red materials, the passenger seat is covered in black leather. Notice the two American flag themes running along the spine of both seats.
As expected all ten examples of the Ferrari F60America have been acquired by collectors.
