If you are a regular reader of CAR magazine, you would know that we are huge fans of the Ford Fiesta ST.
For your money you can drive one of the most entertaining cars on the market, including cars retailing for double or triple that of the ST.
Now Ford has released the ST200, in essence the same car, but the engine has been tweaked to deliver 200 bhp, which translates to 149 kW. That is a notable increase from the current ST’s 134 kW. Torque output has also increased from 240 N.m to 289 N.m.
As expected, the claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time have been reduced to 6,7 seconds. Updates have also been made to the interior. The cabin features new Recaro front seats and coloured seatbelts, to name two.
The ST200 will enter production in June. Should the ST200 head to South Africa, which we can only presume will happen, it could be available during the third quarter of 2016.
