Remember the single image of the edgy Lexus UX Concept revealed earlier this month? Well, the Japanese automaker has now released a shot of its interior, and it’s even more futuristic than the outside…
Set to debut at the Paris Motor Show, Lexus says the new concept “embodies imaginative, forward-thinking technologies to provide occupants with a fully immersive experience”.
The cabin features Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology that the Toyota-backed brand says has been designed to offer connected customers “an innovative, three-dimensional driver experience”.
Undoubtedly the most interesting part of the interior is the driver’s instrument binnacle, which houses a transparent globe, “floating in the manner of a hologram”. Inside this globe, Lexus says a combination of analogue and digital information expresses a “functional yet unexpected user interface”.
And the centre console also features a crystal structure within which a hologram-style display of air-conditioning and infotainment system is visible to both the driver and front passenger.
Other features of the new UX Concept include electro-chromatic windows, e-mirror camera housings (replacing traditional door mirrors) and oodles of electrostatic switchgear housed under transparent covers. Oh, and a detachable “sound-bar” built into the passenger side of the dashboard.
Expect to see more after the official unveiling in Paris.
