The Mazda MX-5 has been treated to a special edition collaboration with the German bucket seat manufacturer Recaro and will be limited to just 600 cars. Unlike the MX-5 Spider and the Speedster we saw last week, this model is definite for production.
The MX-5 Recaro will be based on the 2,0-litre Skyactiv Sport and will feature no performance enhancements. Additions from Recaro will be mostly ergonomic with some external trim.
The MX-5 Recaro will have the Brilliant Black Sports Aero package which features a rear spoiler and skirting all around the body. Piano black side mirrors and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with an engraved MX-5 logo are also included.
The interior of the MX-5 Recaro will feature an Alcantara dash, handbrake and gear lever, alloy pedals, unique floor mats and most importantly, a Recaro branded seats upholstered in Alcantara and red stitching.
With it being limited to 600 cars it is unclear at this stage whether the MX-5 Recaro will be making its way to South Africa. Prices are also yet to be confirmed.
