After the standard GLS was revealed last week, the AMG division has taken the wraps off its high performance variant of the large seven-seater SUV; the GLS63.
The GLS63 has the obvious AMG styling queues with its large and aggressive bumpers and side-skirts and 21-inch low-profile tyres. Other than this, most of the body panels between the AMG and the standard GLS are almost identical.
The GLS63 will be powered by AMG’s biturbo 5,5-litre V8 and will produce 430 kW and 760 N.m of torque and will be driven by the seven-speed ‘speedshift plus’ automatic transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive setup.
Dynamic Select on the high performance SUV sees the ‘off-road’ selection replaced by the ‘sport +’ option but will still have the same air suspension as seen throughout the GLS lineup.
The interior of the GLS63 has also received an AMG treatment with the implementation of Alcantara fabric on the steering wheel and Nappa leather bucket seats.
