The CLA Coupe remains Mercedes-Benz’s smallest sedan while being based on the A Class platform and with that having been recently facelifted it was only a matter of time for this variant to receive a similar treatment. Like the A Class, this CLA facelift will make use of some styling revisions to both the interior and exterior and a few new engines.
The CLA makes use of the new bumper design, LED headlamps, the diamond radiator grille and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the facelift sees new seat covers, trim parts and chrome-plated controls.
The new engine options on the standard coupe and shooting brake include the 180d BlueEfficiency which produces 80 kW of power to the front wheels while making use of a manual five-speed transmission. A more powerful 135 kW variant can be found in the shape of a 220 4MATIC which is equipped with the 7G-Tronic transmission. The CLA Shooting Brake sees a new 180 BlueEfficiency powertrain which produces 90 kW.
On the AMG side of things we still have the CLA45 4MATIC in both Coupe and Shooting Brake variants. These models make use of the 280 kW and 475 N.m 2,0-litre turbopetrol engine seen in the facelifted A45. The CLA model also makes use of two new AMG wheel options. On top of this, the interior sees the implementation of Alcantara upholstery with red stitching.
Speed figures for the Coupe sees a 0-100 km/h time of 4,2 seconds while the Shooting Brake does it in 4,3 seconds while making use of the 4MATIC drivetrain with the 7G-Tronic transmission. The front locking mechanical differential is also included in the new setup if you opt for the Dynamic Plus package. Both models will be limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
Pricing and local availability are yet to be announced.
