Just this week we reported from behind the wheel of the new E-Class, and now pictures have surfaced of the upcoming Maybach version. Called the Mercedes-Maybach E-Class, the pictures clearly illustrate a stretch version of the company’s medium-sized luxury sedan.
If the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class range is used as an indication, the E-Class version will only be powered by the top of the range engine. The focus will be on interior comfort for passengers in the rear which means several of the technologies from the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class could find their way into this E-Class. Apart from the extended wheelbase, the rear doors are also longer, which means ingress and egress are easier.
In the rear there will only be two individual seats which will not only offer cooling and heating options, but is likely to offer massage functions and be able to adjust in a viarety of directions.
As the Mercedes-Maybach S500 and S600 are available in South Africa, this new E-Class derivative could also make its way to our shores.
