Revealed earlier this year, the new Audi Q7 has now arrived in South Africa.
Tipping the scales at up to 325 kg less than the outgoing model, the new luxury SUV, at 5 005 mm in length, is actually 37 mm shorter than the outgoing model. Even the ground clearance has been reduced by 50 mm, according to Audi this is owing to the lower installation of the engine.
The cabin can be ordered with the third row of seats, which can be raised and lowered electrically.
The local range will for now be offered with only a single engine derivative. The 3,0-litre TDI delivers 183 kW and 600 N.m. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 6,3 seconds, before it hits a top speed of 234 km/h. Claimed fuel consumption is 5,7 L/100 km.
January 2016 will see the introduction of the second model in the range. Equipped with a 2,0T FSI engine, it will deliver 185 kW and 370 N.m.
