Renault has bolstered its local Clio line-up with the addition of two new models in the guise of the limited-edition 66 kW turbo Blaze and an 88kW 1,2-litre to lend some welcome added punch to the stylish Gallic package.
While the Blaze edition is essentially a cosmetic update that entails a model-specific interior colour finishes, leather steering wheel and gear lever trim, exterior Blaze badging and revised 15-inch wheel covers, it’s the Clio Expression, with its 1,2-litre engine and dual-clutch transmission that’s the big news here.
This four-cylinder turbopetrol unit develops 88 kW at 4 900 r/min and 190 N.m of torque at 2 000 r/min. Coupled with Renault’s six-speed EDC dual-clutch transmission, this engine is good for a claimed 9,4-second 0-100 km/h sprint time, returns 5,2 L/100 km and emits 120 g of CO2 per kilometre.
Among this model’s standard features are 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sat-nav, leather steering wheel and gear lever boot finishes, air conditioning, 16-inch alloy wheels and front foglamps.
