Yes, it was designed in 2002, but this is the first time that we get an official look at this rather crazy concept; the Porsche Cayenne Cabriolet. Now that the Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet is out, however this does seem more normal than usual but by 2002 standards it is quite out of this world.
The Cayenne Cabriolet makes use of the targa layout which includes the rollbar that stretches above the rear seats. Based on the design of the speedeck, we could assume that the roof is mechanically operated.
Seeing that this is a concept, the interior design makes use of a monotonous grey colour scheme and has enough seats for four occupants.
The Cayenne Cabriolet was revealed alongside the Typ 754 T7 concept which inspired the 911, the 989 concept which eventually became the Panamera and the 918 Spider and Mission-E concept which represent Porsche’s current line up.
Whether this sudden reveal means a cabriolet Cayenne or Macan is on its way should not be assumed, but let’s just say that anything is possible.
