The Nissan NP200 has been around for quite some time, although it recently benefitted from an update for 2016. In a bid to bring it back to the forefront of local buyers’ minds, Nissan has created a special edition derivative dubbed the NP200 ICE.
The locally built limited edition model can be had in silver or blue paint, and comes complete with aluminium fittings (including a nudge-bar), an aluminium sports-bar, dark-tinted windows and special 15-inch alloy wheels. Decals, of course, are also part of the package.
Daytime running lights are also unique to the NP200 ICE, as Nissan says they are currently not available on any other variant in the range. The loading bay, meanwhile, gains a rubberised finish to make it more durable, and Nissan has thrown in a tonneau cover, too.
The interior gains leather upholstery and “easy-to-clean” rubber mats, as well as an updated Bluetooth audio system. Safety is provided by two airbags and ABS. A service plan, however, is an optional extra.
There are two familiar engine options, one petrol and one diesel. The petrol engine is a naturally aspirated 1,6-litre engine which delivers 64 kW and 128 N.m of torque. The turbocharged 1,5-litre diesel engine, meanwhile, produces 63 kW and 200 N.m of torque.
