Following the release of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, the top-of-the-range Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe has been released.
As is the case with the Mercedes-AMG C63 sedan, both a standard version and an “S” derivative is on offer. This means the standard car offers 350 kW and 650 N.m, while the S offers 375 kW and 700 N.m.
Mercedes-AMG claims and acceleration time to 100 km/h of 3,9 seconds and 4,0 seconds respectively. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but the AMG Driver’s Package will allow owners to increase this to 290 km/h.
It is clear from the pictures that apart from being based on the C-Class, there has also been a strong influence in terms of the design from the more expensive S-Class Coupe.
Owing to the performance nature of the car, both front and rear tracks have been widened. The bodywork at the front is now 64 mm winder and 66 mm at the rear.
As with the AMG sedan range, the standard car comes with a mechanical rear-axle limited-slip differential and the S with an electronic version.
The official public unveiling will take place on 15 September at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. Expect the local introduction to commence early next year.
