Rolls-Royce has revealed two photographs of its latest Project Cullinan prototype, which previews the luxury brand’s upcoming SUV.
Of course, Rolls-Royce prefers not to refer to the Cullinan as an SUV (saying it’s “not necessarily sports, not necessarily utility”), opting to call it an “all-terrain, high-sided vehicle” instead.
Regardless of how it is labelled, it is seems increasingly likely that the production version of the Cullinan will compete directly with the Bentley Bentayga.
But the camouflaged vehicle pictured here is brand’s first full development vehicle, and it has just started testing. The prototype features a new “all-wheel-drive suspension system”, and runs on a new aluminium architecture expected to underpin all Rolls-Royces from 2018.
Rolls-Royce says testing will take place in “numerous locations around the world”, including the Arctic Circle and the Middle East.
