Giving a car a black-on-black colour scheme (which would see it described as “murdered out” on the tuner scene) often results in rather an intimidating presence. And that’s certainly the case with Austria-based Z-Performance’s take on the BMW X5 M.
The tuned X5 M gains a few fresh trim pieces, such as a front splitter and rear diffuser (with exhaust tips), but one of the biggest changes to the exterior is the addition of 22-inch ZP Forged 12 alloy wheels, wrapped in 285/30 R22 front and 325/25 R22 rear Pirelli Scorpio Zero rubber.
There’s also a KW Variant 3 coilover suspension kit to lower the SUV’s stance and make it look even more intimidating. Of course, all of the body panels and trim have been finished in either matte or gloss black.
So, what’s happening under the bonnet? Well, the twin-turbo 4,4-litre V8 gains a bump in power by means of the amusingly named “Super Hardcore AK47” option, courtesy of the folks over at Gorilla Performance. The result? Peak outputs of 552 kW and 1 000 N.m of torque…
