Further spy pictures of the upcoming Renault Megane hatch have surfaced on the Internet. Although heavily camouflaged, it is clear that the new Megane will look a lot sportier than the current model. Take for instance the near vertical slats in the lower front grille as well as those alloy wheels.
Based on the CMF platform, the engine range is likely to feature a 1,2- and 1,6-litre turbopetrol engines, along with the similar 1,5- and 1,6-litre dCi turbodiesel units. But, as is the case with every new generation, these engines will be more frugal and offer more power than the outgoing units.
Enthusiasts will obviously anticipate the introduction of a new Megane RS, which should also surface towards the end of next year.
Expect to witness the international unveiling of this car at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September, followed by the local introduction around the first quarter of 2016.
