Austrian bike manufacturer KTM put some smiles on a lot of faces when it revealed the X-Bow track car several years ago. This GT Black Edition is a limited production special which includes visual and mechanical enhancements which builds up from the standard GT revealed three years ago.
On the visual side the Black Edition makes use of the standard fairings but they have been covered in a naked carbon fibre with matte black trimmings and detailing including black 18-inch front and 19-inch rear BBS wheels. To finish the theme off, it also receives an anodized sports exhaust.
The theme of darkness in the Black Edition is continued with the interior (However much there may be). The hand stitched comfort seats make use of specialised logos on the headrests and for the steering wheel, pedals and gear shifter a combination of suede leather and aliminium have been used. The Black Edition also makes use of a new multimedia system which also features a display for the rearview camera.
Driving the Black Edition will be the same 2,0-litre turbocharged engine but with an increased total power output of 235 kW and 420 N.m. No times have been released but based on the standard model the Black Edition should be good for a 0-100 km/h time of less than 4,1 seconds and a top speed of more than 231 km/h.
Only five GT Black Editions will be made with an asking price of R1 663 610,85 (€99 000 before TAX) which includes a tour of the factory in Graz, Austria. Sort of like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but a lot more expensive.
