Popular VW group tuner MTM has take the wraps off its high performance Amarok Passion Desert; a joint collaboration with a company called DIRKS set to be on display at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
On the exterior side of things the Passion Desert looks like it fits its name well. It’s been dressed in a brown and black two-tone exterior with a front brush guard, extended fender flares and 20-inch BBS alloy wheels making use of Cooper off-road tires. It’s also been equipped with side steps, a roll cage, and blacked out badging to intensify the appearance.
Within the Passion Desert the seats and trim have been upholstered with leather and Alcantara upholstery. Carbon fiber trim, auxiliary gauges and an infotainment system with GPS navigation and a television receiver. also adds to the high end performance factor.
Most importantly about the Passion Desert is the 4,2-litre TDI V8 engine that produces 306 kW and 929 N.m of torque, giving it an impressive 0-100 km/h time of 6 seconds flat with a top speed of 240 km/h. To handle this power the Amarok’s platform has been fitted with a coilover suspension and a high-performance braking system using 16-inche front and 14-inche rear discs.
Before you ask if the Passion Desert will be coming to SA please be aware that MTM are asking a R3 410 120,57 price tag (converted from Euros).
