The Indian-built Toyota Etios has been in local circulation for a good few years now, but it hasn’t seen many revisions. Despite this, it is still a competitive product in the new car market, thanks to its low maintenance and financing costs.
With it selling 1 188 units in August, the Etios was the fifth most popular passenger vehicle in the South African market for the month. And to build on this success, Toyota SA has applied a few slight visual enhancements to the economy hatch in an attempt to appeal to an even larger market.
This is the Etios Sprint and, as you can see from the images above, it features a somewhat more aggressive persona than the standard model.
Although most of the focus is on the front, there have also been slight revisions to the rear, chiefly through the implementation of a new crease line. Twin-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels have also been added for good measure.
Toyota furthermore claims that the interior features “improved interior tactile elements throughout”.
Although the Etios Sprint is slated to be available locally in the first quarter of 2017, official pricing has yet to be released.
