German tuner Vath has turned its attention to the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet, giving the topless performance machine a frankly alarming power boost.
Dubbed the V63RS, this angry cabriolet gains a reprogrammed ECU, hiking the twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8’s outputs from the stock 375 kW and 700 N.m (in the case of the “S” model, that is) to a whopping 513 kW and 900 N.m.
The result is a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3,3 seconds (Mercedes says it’ll do 4,1 stock) and a top speed of 340 km/h (up from the electronically limited 250 km/h in the standard car). Pretty scary for a car with no roof, right?
The upgrade also includes an exhaust system with a driver-operated sound flap, as well as six-piston brake calipers and 390 mm brake disks on the front axle. Braided stainless steel brake lines, sport brake pads and racing brake fluid are also part of the package, along with 20-inch V2-GT alloy wheels and a carbon-fibre front splitter and boot spoiler.
To give the V63RS more of an imposing stance, the ride height has been dropped by 40 mm. Alternatively, the tuner will sell you a “complete” suspension kit, which includes adjustable dampers and a double-spring system.
