Volvo South Africa has announced pricing for the new S90 sedan, which is set to go on sale locally towards the end of 2016.
The executive sedan will compete with the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, and the range will start at R675 200 and run through to R871 900.
“With the new Volvo S90 we are about to challenge the definition of luxury once again, a feat we achieved with the all-new XC90 when it launched in South Africa in mid-2015,” said Volvo Car South Africa managing director, Greg Maruszewski.
“We believe that the S90 range, which comprises petrol and diesel models, all of which are powered by our revered Drive-E engines, brings real value for money to the segment without compromising on quality, or indeed luxury.”
The local line-up will include twelve derivatives, spanning three trim levels: Momentum, Inscription and R-Design.
At launch, the D5 AWD and T6 AWD drivetrains will be on offer, in Momentum or Inscription trim. In 2017, however, the D4 FWD and T5 FWD versions will join the range, along with the sportier R-Design trim level.
