Volvo has taken to Snapchat to release teaser images of what appear to be the V40 and XC40 concepts.
The Swedish brand would only confirm that the new concepts – which are expected to be fully unveiled soon – effectively form part of the 40 series.
The compact vehicles are expected to run on the automaker’s all-new CMA platform, developed in partnership with Geely.
On one of the images released on Snapchat, a caption reads: “Not your daddy’s Volvo”, suggesting that the brand hopes the new models will appeal to young buyers.
The teaser shots furthermore show that the upcoming models will share the “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights currently seen on the likes of the XC90 and S90.
Reports suggest that the production version of the XC40 will debut some time in 2017, with the V40 – set to do battle with the likes of the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class – to follow after that.
