Now that Ferrari is playing around with turbochargers again, tuners have opened their laptops and toolboxes to see if they can squeeze more power out of one of Italy’s oldest supercar manufacturer. German tuner VOS gmbH has just revealed its rendition of the Ferrari 488 GTB which makes use of a visually intimidating exterior and an impressive increase in power.
Upgrades to the exterior don’t include any new body panels but the 488 makes use of a new carbon fiber front splitter, rear wing and diffuser and side skirts. The visuals are completed by the set of 21-inch LOMA design forged alloy wheels fitted to a set of 225/35 ZR21 front and 325/25 ZR21 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. Sports springs from H&R are also fitted to help the supercar cope with the extra power.
Most of the focus from VOS has been placed on the 3,9-litre twin-turbo V8 which has been pushed to 671 kW and
1 234 N.m of torque from its stage three tuning option. This makes use of a modified air induction system, an ECU remap and an exclusive new exhaust system that can be ordered with either downpipes or a sports catalyst. If this isn’t enough VOS has stated that a stainless steel Akrapovic exhaust system will eventually be available.
VOS hasn’t released any pricing or performance figures for its creation but the options bag is rather customisable for those who only want certain additions.
