Porsche will bring a Panamera Estate concept to this year’s Paris Motor Show to gauge public opinion regarding a potential production run.
The concept will reportedly adopt a coupe-esque profile akin to that of the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, which has already been given the green light for production.
In addition to exploring a new niche for Porsche’s products, the concept is also likely to showcase many of the design features slated for the updated 2013 model year Panamera. This model will feature a new instrument panel, possibly some tweaks to the lights and front/rear valances and will also usher in a long-wheelbase version.
Porsche will base its decision to go ahead with a production run based on the public’s perception of the concept gleaned from the concept at Paris as well as keeping an eye on CLS Shooting Brake sales. Should it get the thumbs-up, the Panamera Estate could well be a timely riposte to Mercedes’s graceful Shooting Brake.
