Ever wanted to drive a race car to Le Mans, compete, and then drive home? Sounds impossible but that is exactly what Jim Glickenhaus set out to achieve when he designed the SCG 003 – showcased at the Geneva Motor Show.
Yes, it will have to undergo a transformation to enter the LMP1 class when it reaches the track but is designed so that the goal is achievable. Glickenhaus had to study the rules of the world endurance championship (WEC) closely to design a car that will meet the regulations to enter but still be road legal and have space for the driver and a passenger – quite a feat. Little is known about the powertrain yet.
The order book is now open but you will need around $2 million (R24 million est.) to secure one of these carbon-fiber racers.
