Nearly eight years after it was first revealed, Spyker has decided to lay the C8 Aileron to rest, with this limited edition model serving as a final tribute. The last version of the second-generation sportscar will be called the Spyker C8 Aileron LM85 and will feature the Dutch brand’s traditional fighter jet-inspired design cues. Just three examples will be built.
The special Spyker retains the Audi-sourced supercharged 4,2-litre V8, which pushes 391 kW and 600 N.m of torque to the rear through a six-speed automatic ZF transmission. The result is a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3,9 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h.
What sets these three limited models apart from those that came before them are their external design schemes, which include handcrafted and riveted aluminium bodywork, aluminium billet air intakes and wider wheel arches.
Two of the Spyker C8 Aileron LM85s will sport jet black body paint with contrasting crimson red and gold, while the third will be painted in crimson red with a jet black contrasting livery.
The cabin mimics the exterior colour scheme, with custom two-tone leather seats, an aluminium dash, Chronoswiss gauges and that trademark exposed gear-shift mechanism.
Although this is the end for the C8 Aileron, Spyker recently announced its engine partnership with Koenigsegg. And that means we may well see a new model revealed soon…
