Rinspeed spends all of its time creating out-of-this-world concepts and this, the Oasis, is just another example. Being developed for cramped city spaces, it seats just two people and has been afforded a tiny turning circle (thanks to the fact that the front wheels can rotate on their own axis).
Frank M. Rinderknech, CEO of Rinspeed, says the Oasis will also be suitable as a delivery vehicle, particularly when it comes to something like pizzas. At the rear of the concept is a compartment that can either be cooled or heated, depending on the cargo.
Access to the Oasis is simple thanks to its sliding doors, which means it can be parked in narrow spots. It also makes use of large windows, providing generous visibility from the inside.
Interior equipment is where things get a little more interesting. The passengers use two comfy armchairs and can keep themselves occupied with a virtual television, which is projected onto the large windscreen.
The Oasis is autonomous, which means that it has no driver controls.
Rinspeed hasn’t revealed any details of the concept’s power output, which is expected since it won’t see a production line anytime in the near future. From what we can see, the Oasis makes use of partial solar power (judging from the panels on its roof).
You’ll be able to find out more about this concept at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show in January.
