Update:
We never expected that there would be so many leaks leading up to the unveiling of the new Toyota Hilux. The latest pictures show again the front of the bakkie, while the interior picture clearly shows the all-new cabin. It is clear from the exterior pictures that the bakkie has pronounced wheelarches.
The cabin features one single screen for the infotainment system, while the air-conditioning system’s switches are positioned below this screen. There is also satellite buttons (as before) on the new steering wheel.
Further details suggest that there will be new engines in the range. A 2,4-litre turbodiesel in two states of tune, a 2,8-litre turbodiesel and a 2,7-litre petrol engine. These engines will offer power deliveries between 110 kW and 130 kW.

Original story:
The latest pictures to surface on the Internet of the upcoming Toyota Hilux is the clearest indication yet of one of SA’s best selling vehicles. We can’t confirm whether this is any official documentation, but judging by the looks of it, it is pretty close to what we expect the new Hilux will look like.
The wheelarches seem to be more pronounced than that of the current range, while the bakkie in the first picture is fitted with projector lamps. What makes us think that this could indeed be the new Hilux is the fact that the information comes from Thailand, the source of most new bakkie information long before the official unveiling.
The second picture shows a heavily camouflaged test mule. Again, looking at this covered mule it seems that the blue bakkie could indeed be the upcoming Hilux.
Toyota is tight lipped about the newcomer, but we will unveil all the details as soon as we can get our hands on it.
