Here’s another teaser for the upcoming Renault Sandero RS. This latest video shows a camouflaged Sandero RS driving around the Copa de las Marcas Petrobras race track in Brazil.
It will be built in Brazil, making it the first RenaultSport model to be developed outside of Europe.
The Renault Sandero RS is likely to be powered by a 2,0-litre petrol engine sourced from a Brazilian-spec Renault Duster. It develops 107 kW in the SUV and it’s not clear yet whether it will get an increase in power (or even a turbocharger) in the Sandero. A six-speed manual is rumoured to be the transmission.
Externally, the Sandero RS is distinguished by more muscular wheel arches, a rear spoiler, a lowered sports suspension, and large alloy wheels painted in black and matched with the side mirror caps.
Whether or not we will see it in SA remains undisclosed and at the moment it’s apparently only earmarked for the Latin American markets.
