As can be expected, Japanese companies take their local car show fairly seriously. We are not used to seeing Yamaha concept cars regularly at car shows, but this year the company unveiled a rather sporty looking concept called the Sport Ride.
At only 3 900 mm long, 1 720 mm wide, 1 170 mm tall, including the extensive use of carbon fibre, the Sport Ride Concept tips the scales at only 750 kg.
Inside there is only two seats, and as one would expect from a motorcycle manufacturer, the driving experience is focused around the driver.
There is unfortunately no word on the powertrain, yet. Some of us would like to think that Yamaha would consider installing its R1 motorcycle engine in this lightweight concept, similar to what Honda did with its Project 2&4. This is sadly unlikely.
