The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport is already a fair step up from the standard GTI. But German tuning company ABT reckons there’s even more room for improvement.
Yes, the Bavarian tuner has upgraded the Clubsport’s 2,0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mill from the standard power output of 195 kW to no less than 250 kW, while upping peak torque from 350 N.m to 430 N.m. Unfortunately, the company doesn’t list the resulting performance stats.
Along with this hike in oomph, ABT says it is also offering various styling upgrades, including a front spoiler, side-skirts, rear skirt, side-mirror caps, and headlamp covers. ABT Sportsline lightweight alloy wheels are also available.
The tuned Golf GTI Clubsport can also be had with ABT suspension springs or an ABT height-adjustable suspension kit. Anti-roll bars for the front and rear axle furthermore serve to improve handling. The braking system has also been uprated, with six-piston callipers in use up front.
